Youth Programs

TAA youth are actively keeping the Jewish tradition alive.  Through participation in youth activities and with their dedication to community service, our Temple Youth are shaping and strengthening their future identities.

The Pittsfield Federation of Temple Youth (PFTY), led by advisor Rachel Alemany, has long been committed to encouraging Jewish students in grades 6-12 to participate in Judaism and social action activities.  PFTY leads services throughout the year, runs the fall food drive; raises money for tikkun olam through events like the annual Italian dinner, collecting new clothing, toys, diapers and accessories for the winter Community Crib, helps to maintain the Temple section of the Pittsfield Cemetery, and more.

In addition to cooperative efforts within Berkshire County, PFTY members frequently reach beyond the Berkshires and participate in events held by the Northeast Region of the National Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY).  Through activities such as apple picking, trip to Mike's Corn Maze, and regional NFTY events, youth members broaden their experience and develop tight-knit bonds within the community and beyond.

The PFTY Youth Programs is made possible by the generosity of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.

New members of PFTY are always welcome. For more information contact Rachel Alemany at ralemany43@gmail.com
